Unlike the Dr. Atkins Diet, we do encourage you to consume carbohydrates. Let us first explain a little about carboyhdrates and their correlation in losing weight and body fat.

Carbs (fruits, vegetables, breads, rice, pastas) main purpose is to supply energy to your body for strenuous activities and exercise. Carbs are burned by the body to produce energy. Any carbs that are not burned off from exercise or activity are stored as body fat by your body. Therefore our diet plan only recommends eating carbs on the days you weight train or exercise intensely. Non high activity days don't require you to consume carbs as they will not get burned off and you'll end up adding even more body fat. So we encourage you to consume slow glycemic carbs (carbs that provide long lasting energy) such as wholegrains, potatoes, wheats, fruits, vegetables, brown rice, sweet potatoes etc) on days you exercise and eat them sparingly on days you do not train. We also encourage Protein intake with our plan. Protein is the building block for lean muscle and is an essential nutrient required by our body.
