How to Reduce Stress and Anger

By Fitness Expert Ross Edgley BSc (Hons)

You may or may not know but it’s officially Anger Management Week this week and so I felt compelled to write an article on this very topic and how it can affect your training. Now anger produces the hormone cortisol which is created in the body’s adrenal glands, it is produced because the body is angry and is therefore preparing for a fight. This dates back to prehistoric times when we were all cavemen and cavewomen running away from a sabre tooth tiger or tyrannosaurus. Basically the increased cortisol will increase the flow of glucose, protein and fat out of the muscle tissue and into the blood stream thus increasing ‘energy’ ensuring the body is physically ready for the task at hand.

The problem is now in the 21st century there is a lack of sabre tooth tigers and tyrannosaurus’ so the increased glucose, protein and fat in the blood stream stores as fat as we are sitting at our work desk stressed. Worse still American physician Harvey Cushing (1869-1939) discovered Cushing's syndrome or hypercortisolism as it is also known, an endocrine disorder caused by high levels of cortisol in the blood. It is reported prolonged high levels of cortisol in the blood will:

  • Lower the immune system

  • Slow down your thinking

  • Create blood sugar imbalances

  • Raise your blood pressure

  • Decrease Bone Density

And more importantly for Sixpacknow.com visitors it will:

  • Weaken muscle tissue

  • Increase fat in the stomach areas

But never fear for help is at hand and it comes in the form of the supplement Anger Management from www.lamuscle.com. It contains natural ingredients that will help you reduce stress levels and thus spare muscle from being lost and fat from being stored.
