Ross Edgley’s thoughts on the less ‘Commercial’ Fat Loss
Supplements
I
have been very busy of late and so have had very little time to tidy my bedroom,
which is well overdue for a good clean. So with some spare time today I decided
to have a ‘sort out’ of my cupboards whilst also thinking of a topic for my next
article. I really hadn’t cleared my cupboards in a while; so long in fact I was
finding some of my books from primary school history lessons (bad I know…shame
on me) But then, as I was looking at my, “Medieval Wars” text book, it dawned on
me… Medieval English Warfare is an awful lot like Fat Loss supplements.
Allow me to explain…during war times in Medieval England there were many kinds
of soldiers and weaponry, there were archers, cavalry, infantry (on foot
soldiers) battering rams, swords, lances a.k.a. A long stick, and each were used
to serve a different purpose. This exact same principal applies with regard to
fat loss supplements, there are many different ones on the market and all serve
a slightly different purpose, which one you use will depend on your goals, much
like Medieval warfare.
Appetite Suppressors a.k.a. The Archers
For many people those supplements that help reduce cravings are considered most
effective for fat loss, the most popular two being:
These
are great to help people avoiding the pitfalls of dieting however obviously
wouldn’t be great if you wanted a supplement to break down your fat deposits.
This is exactly the same as the archer, deadly from distance with his arrows
however no one would dream of sending the poor chap into close combat armed with
only his bow and arrow a.k.a. a twig with a sharp end, the little fellow
wouldn’t stand a chance bless him.
Metabolic supporters a.k.a. The infantry
For others supplements that aid the body’s metabolic system are considered most
effective for fat loss, the most popular being:
-
B vitamins – help metabolise carbohydrates and
protein
-
Co-enzyme Q10 – is a metabolic stimulant
-
Green and sea vegetables – support the body’s
metabolism
-
Multi vitamin - support the body’s metabolism
-
Ginseng – will nourish the metabolic system
-
Kelp, helps support the thyroid gland (gland
responsible for the bodies metabolism)
However once again these supplements are excellent for their intended purpose,
to aid the bodies metabolism, but aren’t great for others. Much like the loyal
infantryman, superb for close, man to man combat however would be useless trying
to break down a castle wall on their own. After implementing the, “Knocking and
asking politely if they can come in” technique, they would be well and truly up
sh*t creek without a paddle…so to speak.
Fat removers a.k.a. The Cavalry
For some supplements that break down fat deposits within the body are considered
most effective for fat loss, the most popular being:
And once again to reiterate, great for their intended purpose but not for
others. Much like the cavalry, great for a speedy attack during a land battle
however maybe not best during a battle at sea. UNLESS your horse was of the
special, rare, amphibious, aquatic breed, then in which case, onwards and “Once
more unto unto the breach dear friends.” But if it’s just an ordinary horse, I
really don’t rate your chances.
Well I have come to the end of my ramblings again for another two weeks,
hopefully you are a little wiser regarding the less commercial fat loss
supplements on the market at the moment AND you are a little better informed
should you ever find yourself involved in a Medieval War.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I really must tidy my room!
