About Veronica and here Routine
Bio:
I’m currently a fulltime Strength & Conditioning coach at
Syracuse University. Prior to this I worked as a personal
trainer and fitness specialist for 6 years. I competed in track
& field as a hurdler and long jumper for nearly 20 years,
including 4 years at the DI level. After my running career
ended, a co-worker introduced me to the world of bodybuilding. I
soon fell in love with Figure and entered my first competition
in April 2006. I’ve competed successfully so far in 2007 placing
in the top 3 at each of my shows. My goal is to earn my pro card
in Figure and to become a fitness model or possibly a
spokeswoman in a health/fitness related venture.
Diet:
I love to eat and foods like yogurt, berries, pizza, and
chocolate are some of my favorite treats, but when I’m preparing
for a Figure competition I follow a fairly restricted diet.
Leading into a competition my daily intake consists of foods
like eggs, oatmeal, turkey, chicken, peanut butter, and
broccoli. However, when I’m not getting ready to compete, I
happily enjoy a variety of foods that are not in my training
diet and I’m not afraid to indulge every now & then.

Cardio:
I enjoy going on long runs in the morning before work. I try to
get 30-45mins in during the off-season, but in-season I usually
go for about 60 minutes. When the cold weather hits or when I
need to do a second session, I like to mix it up and do other
cardio activities like stairs, jump rope, or the elliptical and
stationary bike.

Strength Training:
I tend to put on muscle mass quite easily, so I usually train
high reps & sets using moderate weights. I like to do legs every
other day and incorporate a lot of bodyweight and single leg
exercises. I train the rest of my body, chest, back, biceps &
triceps once per week.
Interesting Facts:
Hobbies: Running & Travelling
Magazines: Muscle and Fitness, Oxygen, Fit Pregnancy
Healthy Foods: sushi, strawberries, mangos, blueberries, peanut
butter
Cheat Foods: pizza, Auntie Anne's pretzel, fried plantain
Workout Music: Hip Hop
Supplements: Nu-Life Nutrition Hemoplex I've always had low
blood iron levels, especially when I'm in a hard training &
competition cycle. This product has helped keep my anemia under
control.
God Bless
Veronica
